The Australian National Sprint Competition is held to find the fastest lure courser of each breed from around Australia.
Length of the straight course : 100 metres (our lure coursers were looking for a bend at first, but soon learned) Bunting recommended all around as some dogs were difficult to catch.
Electronic timing machine or stop watch (as back up only) is used to time the runs
A finish date for all results to come in to the person in charge of collating and sorting (this year Sandra, next year another person)
The competition takes place between March and June each year. Each dog can run in as many competitions as they like, with their best time counting towards the competition. Only the best time for each dog to be recorded for the final tally.
Each lure coursing club can hold as many sprint competitions during the competition as they like.
